PENAMPANG: Sabah police will make use of the festive season to share information on policing issues in their effort to reduce crime.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib said gatherings during the festive season were the best time for the police to mingle with the community.
“Working towards zero crime is not impossible.
“It can be done as long as there is effort and cooperation,” he said at the launch of the Sabah Police Kaamatan Harvest Festival celebration, here, Monday night.
He said Sabah police were determined to ensure that the government’s vision to reduce crime in the state was attained.
“Therefore, I urge everyone to help the police by sharing any information they have to maintain safety and harmony in the country.
“In line with the harvest festival’s theme this year of ‘Muhibah dan Persefahaman melalui Kaamatan’ (Goodwill and Understanding through Kaamatan), we must preserve and defend the harmony that we have,” he said, adding that unity was the key to national peace. — Bernama
