BEAUFORT: The villagers of Kampung Bingkul near here, are seeing red as they have been denied of water supply for about a week now.
“It was hard to perform our ablutions, prepare food and even wash up before prayers as there is simply no water,” said one of the villagers, Ali Dad Fazal Elahi, yesterday.
Expressing disappointment at the district’s Water Department, he said no one had bothered to come resolve their predicament, including the assemblyman and community leaders.
“What has made it worst is that the situation has continued right until today, and we had to celebrate Hari Raya without any water supply. Some were forced to take rooms at hotels in the district, while other resorted to taking water from the mosque nearby for cooking and shower. Luckily there is a big tank there for us to use.
“Our Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Aman, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman, former chief minister Tan Sri Harris Salleh, were all born here … I am appealing to them to please listen to our plight. Please put a stop to our misery quickly,” he pleaded.
