SANDAKAN: More than 100 participants took part in the Street Art Graffiti 2014 Program to beautify Sandakan at the Coastal Road yesterday.

In undertaking the activities, participants from the Industrial Training Institute (ILP) Sandakan, Sandakan Polytechnic, Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) Sandakan and Sandakan Hotel have been divided into 10 groups to ease the work load of painting the areas around Sandakan.
Before the painting activities began, the participants jointly cleaned the areas around Coastal Road. Painting work was undertaken at two separate locations in Sandakan Town, the wall along the Coastal Road and the retaining wall at Wisma Sandakan Municipal Council (SMC).
The program was launched by the president of SMC, Datuk James Wong. The painting activities are monitored by 18 members of the Sabah Visual Arts Association from Kota Kinabalu and Tawau.
