LABUAN: Two teenagers, both aged 16, were detained by the police on suspicion of stealing a motorcycle from a government servant at the Financial Park basement on April 21.
Labuan police chief Superintendent Adzhar Othman yesterday said the owner found his bike, worth over RM2,000, missing at 4.30pm the same day.
“The owner parked his motorcycle with its handle bar locked. However, the two suspects managed to unlock and steal the motorcycle.
“He tried to search for his bike but failed. The next day, he lodged a police report,” he said.
Adzhar added police detained the two teenagers after viewing a closed-circuit television (CCTV) which caught them in the act.
The duo told police that they had hidden the motorcycle under Taman Raga Flats.
“The motorcycle was recovered on Tuesday in a good condition. However, its number plate had been replaced with another one,” said Adzhar.
Both suspects were being remanded for four days starting yesterday.
