TUARAN: Parti Keadilan Tuaran respects the decision by the group led by Fairuz Bandar to leave the party and join UPKO last Wednesday.
The acting chairman of PKR Tuaran, Gaibin Ransoi, said in a statement yesterday that he was not surprised by Fairuz’s move as he was formerly in Barisan Nasional under Umno Tuaran, before joining PKR.
“His entry into UPKO is a natural move for him because he is now back to BN,” Gaibin said.
“He also needs to find a political platform after he lost his position in the Tuaran division after the former Tuaran PKR chairman, Hj Ansari Abdullah was sacked from PKR after the last general elections.”
However, Gaibin said he was certain the number of former PKR members who followed Fairuz to UPKO was a lot less than the 100 as claimed.
“But whatever it is, the move by the group has no effect on the strength of PKR Tuaran division, as the core leaders who are truly dedicated to the party’s struggle are still with the party,” Gaibin added.
“And the current development in the party at the central level is strengthening the people support for PKR.”
Gaibin also said that at the moment, the division is gearing up in preparation for the party’s general meeting to be held in May this year during which the divisional leadership will be revitalized with new blood.
