KENINGAU: Two Filipino men suspected of killing their colleague were arrested in a paddy field at Kampung Lumondou in Tambunan district on January 26.
District police chief Deputy Superintendent Robert Salisip @ David said a team of police from Keningau Criminal Investigation Department raided a hut with Tambunan police at noon.
“Both foreign suspects, aged 23 and 29, are working as labourers and still single,” he told reporters after the district police headquarters monthly assembly here yesterday.
He said one suspect did not have any documents while another, whose photos have been published in local newspapers, Charlie Hangad Lading, has a passport bearing the numbers xx5702622.
Robert said the two suspects would be remanded for further investigation.
Meanwhile, police are still trying to locate and arrest another suspect who is still at large.
He said the suspect wanted by police was a 30-year-old Filipino named Arjay, who worked as a construction labourer and did not have any documents.
Robert said efforts to locate and arrest the suspect were being carried out and asked members of the public with information on the suspect to call the Keningau police station at 087-332 222 or directly call investigating officer ASP Lee Nyuk Kim at 016-862 5302 or any police station.
In the Friday incident at 4.20pm, a Filipino man was beaten to death by three co-workers due to a misunderstanding at the construction site of private houses in a village in Tambunan district.
The case has been classified as murder and is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
