Senior cops in crime prevention drive

TAWAU: In an effort to reduce crime further, police went around the town yesterday to make people aware that crime prevention is the responsibility of everyone.

Chief assistant director of prevention and crime fight, SAC Wan Mohamad bin Wan Abdullah was accompanied by district police chief ACP Awang Besar Dullah around town area yesterday as they met shop operators and distributed flyer’s of Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation on ‘crime prevention is our responsibility’.

Wan Mohamad urged operators to cooperate with the police and contact the police if there was any crime or information on criminal activities.

Meanwhile, Awang Besar said the crime rate in Tawau had reduced further and assured the community that the police would be conducting more operations to rope in criminals and reduce crime further.

Meanwhile, those met during the walk in the town area yesterday were informed on home security, vehicle theft, rape abuse, sex abuse of children and snatch thief. and how to prevent and not become a victim.
