TUARAN: It was 46-years ago when Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen was among Primary Five and Six pupils at SJK (C) Chen Sin in Tuaran.

Though spending only two years there, Susan said Chen Sin School is one of the reasons why she always gives priority to education.

The managing director of Mega Sunwise Sdn Bhd and WSG Development Sdn Bhd is therefore thankful to her mother Datin Seri Panglima Chen Si Mui and her late father Datuk Seri Panglima (Dr) Wong Kwok for giving her the opportunity to study in the school.

“I also thank the teachers of SJK (C) Chen Sin for making who I am today,” she said.

“That is why I return to this school to give something back to the future generation. Former students of this school had worked together with me raising funds to build a sheltered basketball court for this school. It will be completed before the year end,” she said.

Wong was accompanied by her mother in officiating at the ground-breaking ceremony for the project at the school, yesterday.

She said the sheltered basketball court project, costing RM360,000, was proposed by former students of SJK (C) Chen Sin to ensure that the pupils have a basketball court where they can play during rain or shine.
