KOTA KINABALU: Two men sustained injuries when the Perodua Myvi car they were traveling in burst into flames after hitting a roundabout along the Sepanggar Road, near Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP), here on Wednesday night.
In the 11.30pm incident, both men, in their 20s, were heading towards Sepanggar from Iramanis when the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle and hit a roundabout, went over it and overturned a couple of times before coming to a halt at the side of the road, about 100 metres away from the initial impact with the roundabout.
Passersby present nearby managed to pull both men out from the car before it burst into flames.
Fire and Rescue Services personnel, who arrived at the scene, managed to put out the fire which completely destroyed the car.
Both men, who sustained injuries, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in ambulance and were reported to be in stable condition.
From initial police investigation, it is believed that the car was speeding when it hit the roundabout.
