KOTA KINABALU: The Barisan Nasional (BN) government does not need representatives from the opposition to become heroes and champion the fate of the people or claim that they are helping BN.
“The BN government is not only capable of planning, but also capable of implementing all its policies, projects and initiatives for the welfare of the people,” said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman at a press conference after the close of the State Assembly sitting yesterday.
“Furthermore, the BN manifesto and Akujanji in the recent general election is more realistic and can be achieved and implemented based on the evidence and BN’s excellent track record at both state and central levels.
“What is important after this is we need to go down to the grassroots, provide our services and best defence to the people at their respective constituency,” he said.
Earlier, Musa mentioned that generally, members of the State Assembly took active part in the question and answer session as well as in the debate by raising various issues of relevance and importance to the people at their various constituencies.
“We thank them and we are grateful for their opinions and urgings. The issues and questions raised were explained and answers were given by the relevant ministries, according to their tasks and functions,” he said.
“An as with the content of the speech by the Head of State of Sabah and of my speech during the State reception, it became our hope that the State Assembly sitting went efficiently through the presentation of quality and constructive debates, views and proposals, including those from the opposition,” he said.
Unfortunately, he said, basing on what was witnessed during the sitting, opposition members had often misled the house by twisting facts and exploiting issues for their own narrow political importance.
“It is as if they don’t understand or pretend not to know the various efforts and successes of the BN government to defend the people and bring about development tp all places in the State, including their own constituencies,” he said.
“I would like to stress that the BN government is a caring, responsible and always attentive to the voice and feelings of the people,” he said.
