KOTA KINABALU: The shortage of water supply to the residents of Kota Kinabalu City, Penampang and Putatan districts since Oct 7, was back to normal yesterday, said Sabah Water Department Director Ag Mohd Tahir Mohd Talib.

He said water supply pressure to the affected areas would also be normalised after repair works were done on the water pump equipments at Kasigui Treatment Plant intakes, which totally submerged due to the recent floods.

“Efforts are made as soon as the river levels receded enough for cleaning and the extraction of some of the submerged equipments for repairs.

“More works are still required for some more major equipment but the normal supply from the treatment plants will resume by Tuesday and water supply and pressure to affected areas normalised within a few day’s time,” he said in a statement here yesterday. — Bernama
