KOTA KINABALU: Efforts to making unity a culture in community living are not short term and seasonal agenda, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman said.

Speaking at the United Sabah Dusun Association’s (USDA)charity dinner in conjunction with the 51st Malaysia Day celebration here on Friday night, Musa said that culture must be instilled and practised with full awareness and sincerity at all times.

Musa’s speech was delivered by Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor who was representing the Chief Minister.

“At the same time I would like to remind all of you to continue protecting and strengthening our unity at all times. Do not be taken in or influenced by the actions of irresponsible quarters who try to threaten the peace, harmony and progress we have been enjoying all this while,” he stressed.

In conjunction with the coming Malaysia Day which falls on Sept 16, Musa also called on everyone to be thankful for the peace and harmony achieved and added that this should give them the spirit and drive to continue protecting and defending “our beloved country”.

“I urge the Dusun community through USDA to continue supporting the government for the sake of  the state’s development and progress,” he said.
