Sabah is Malaysia, not part Malaysia

BEAUFORT: A stable and peaceful party will help Umno and BN to plan and fulfill their obligations to the people.

Speaking at the Umno Beaufort Division delegates conference in Beaufort later yesterday afternoon, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin called on party leaders and members to strengthen their unity.

The party’s deputy president reminded the people that it was Umno and its partners representing the other races that fought for the independence of the country.

“The country’s independence which has given the people a sense of pride and equal standing at the world stage should be preserved at all times against those who are bent on destroying it,” he said

He also said Sabah is Malaysia, not part Malaysia. He was referring to the formation of Malaysia through an understanding forged between the Federation of Malaya, Sabah and Sarawak.

Muhyiddin praised Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Hj Aman for his dynamic leadership which ensured a close working relationships between the state and federal governments thus paving the way for an enhanced development in Sabah.

Earlier, Musa said party leaders must avoid internal conflict  and remain loyal to their leaders in order to make the party more effective in serving the people.

He also commended Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak and Muhyiddin for paying close attention to Sabah’s needs.

The deputy premier also approved Beaufort Umno Division chief  Isnin Haji Aliasni’s requests for better and new hostels for SMK Menumbuk and SMK Kota Klias as well as a fully residential school in Kuala Penyu.
