KOTA KINABALU: The body of a newborn boy was found at a dump site in Kayu Madang, Menggatal here yesterday.

Forensic police carrying out investigation at the dump site where a newly born baby boy (circle) was found at Kayu Madang, Menggatal yesterday.
It is believed the baby had been dead for 24 hours and was disposed of at the site before it was discovered by the public around 8am.
City police chief Assistant Commissioner M. Chandra confirmed the case and said police were still investigating the case.
“The body of the newly-born baby boy has been taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem.
“No arrest has been made and police urge anyone with information to come forward to assist us in our investigation,” he said.
Chandra added the case would be investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealment of birth by secret disposal of the dead body.
The offence carries a jail term of two years or fine, or both, on conviction.
