LAHAD DATU: The district police arrested eight individuals and seized five stolen motorcycles during Ops Lejang implemented by the district Crime Investigation Department (CID) at Jalan SMK Agaseh on Friday.
District Police Chief, ACP Shamsudin Mat said following information and surveillance, a CID team went to the school construction site at Jalan SMK Agaseh and made an inspection.
“During inspection, the team managed to seize two motorcycles believed to be stolen and arrested three individuals.
“Following the arrest, the team managed to arrest another five individuals and seized three more motorcycles, which had their chassis number erased about 10pm on the same day at Jalan Danum,” he said.
Shamsudin said all the suspects aged between 20 and 30 will be remanded for further investigation under Section 379 A of the Penal Code.
Meanwhile, in another operation at the same location, the team also nabbed seventeen individuals including three children who failed to produce identification documents while inspected by the police.
Shamsudin said all those detained aged between 20 and 40 years will be investigated under the Immigration Act for entering the state illegally.
