KOTA MARUDU: A 62-year-old man was injured after the roof of his house was blown off by a thunderstorm at Kampung Mempakad Laut in Pitas here on Wednesday.
Hadarah Sauna sustained minor injuries on his hand and body when he was hit by pieces of wood in the 7.20pm incident.
The victim was given first aid treatment by Civil Defence Department personnel who were notified of the incident.
It is learnt that the thunderstorm, which lasted about five minutes, also destroyed two houses and badly affected 17 other houses.
District police chief Superintendent Mohd Isa Yusof said no casualty was reported during the incident.
