LAHAD DATU: A 16-year-old teenager suffered a broken arm after his Perodua Kancil crashed into a palm oil trailer truck at Km 19, Jalan Lahad Datu-Tawau on Monday.

District police chief ACP Shamsudin Mat said the incident occurred about 1.50pm.
It was learnt that the Kancil driver was heading towards Lahad Datu town from Kampung Silam while the trailer was coming from the opposite direction when the incident occurred.
“Initial police investigation found that the Kancil driver lost control of his wheel and entered the opposite lane before crashing into the trailer.
“Upon impact of the crash, the trailer driver lost control of the wheel, crashed into the road divider and overturned,” he said.
Shamsudin added that the trailer driver escaped unhurt and the case would be investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
