KOTA KINABALU: One hundred and twenty-nine home owners in Kota Kinabalu have registered their home addresses with the police since the start of Ops Selamat on July 21.
Acting city police chief Superintendent M. Chandra advised members of the public who will be leaving their homes during the Hari Raya celebrations to register their home address with the police so that their properties could be better guarded.
The operation, themed ‘Safe Home, Safe Arrival to Destination’, ends on August 4.
Besides distributing the forms house to house, Chandra said home owners could also visit the police station to fill in the forms, or call the nearest police station.
Alternatively, the public can send a short messaging service (SMS) to Rakan Cop at 32728 to register.
Chandra said the police would patrol the registered homes three times every 24 hours until the owners return.
He added that there have not been any break-ins on the 129 homes registered under Ops Selamat.
