A total 17,122 litres of diesel was seized in Ops Titik.
KOTA KINABALU: The Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK) Sabah has seized six vehicles and 17,122 litres of diesel valued about RM431,000 during Ops Titik.
Its chief enforcement officer, Suhaimi Mat Sari, said the ministry had uncovered 11 offences during the operation held from May 15 to June 2 this year, with seizures worth RM431,050.65.
Ops Titik, a nationwide operation which started on May 15 and will go on until December this year, focused on subsidized controlled goods, especially diesel, petrol and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
The operation is targeted at cracking down on petrol stations that are colluding with diesel suppliers that sell diesel to ‘project’ lorries. These ‘project’ lorries collect subsidized fuel from petrol stations and sell it illegally to industries or to neighbouring countries, Suhaimi said.

He added that the operation also involved curbing LPG decanting, which entailed supplying the subsidized 14-kilogramme LPG cylinders to industries.
“Our focus is on stores or warehouses, petrol stations, sundry shops and modified vehicles,”Suhaimi said in a statement yesterday.
He added that the operation was jointly carried out with other enforcement agencies such as the Customs Department, Road Transport Department, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, police, Immigration and local authorities, among others.
Suhaimi warned that KPDNKK would take stern action on individuals and premises found committing the offence, including revoking their licence if they were convicted in court.
“This operation is enforced under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 which carries a fine not exceeding RM100,000 or up to three-year imprisonment for individuals, or both.
“Corporate entities found to have committed this offence are liable to a fine not exceeding RM250,000,”he warned.
He also urged the public to file their complaints to KPDNKK via email at e-aduan@kpdnkk.gov.my, call the toll free line at 1-800-886-800 or file a complaint at any KPDNKK office in Sabah.
