KOTA KINABALU: The worldwide museum community will mark International Museum Day on Sunday.
The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Museum collections make connections’ and in conjunction with this auspicious occasion, the Sabah Museum in Kota Kinabalu and its branch museums throughout Sabah will waive their entrance fees to visitors for a day.
The Sabah Museum said in a statement that it encouraged members of the public to take this opportunity to visit the museums.
The Sabah Museum in Kota Kinabalu will open its collection rooms from 9.00-11.30 am.
The collection rooms are ethnography, ceramics, zoology, science and technology and Tamadun Islam (Islamic civilisation) and there are also three on-going special exhibitions in the main building: ‘The Sabah Rangers’, ‘Sabah Then and Now – 50th Anniversary of Sabah in Malaysia’ and ‘The Robert Knowles Photographic Exhibition’. — BERNAMA
