KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman has extended his heartfelt congratulations to newly-elected Balingian representative, Yussibnosh Balo.

Musa said the 6,911-majority win by Barisan Nasional (BN) during the recent by-election proved that the party had support and endorsement from the people.

He was met by the press after the 21st Ex-Sabah Collegians Association (OSCA) Golf Tournament 2014 closing ceremony at the Sutera Harbour Golf and Country Club (SGHCC) here.  Yussibnosh, 48, had helped retain the BN state seat with 8,194 votes whereas opponent, PKR candidate, Abdul Jalil Bujang, 55, managed only 1,283 votes.

“This also shows that the people, including Sarawakians, are giving their full support to current Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak because they realise that he is always expressing concern to us in Sabah and Sarawak, and others in Peninsular Malaysia,” he  said.

He added that BN would continue to work hard and give its best to the country, including Sabah and Sarawak.

“Congratulations to Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem and all BN leaders in Sarawak as it is a BN stronghold,” he said.

The by-election, held Saturday, was called following the resignation of former Sarawak Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud as Balingian assemblyman on Feb 28.

Taib was subsequently appointed Yang Dipertua Negeri Sarawak.
