SANDAKAN: A man, who was spurned by a woman, went missing in the jungle at Mile 6 here Wednesday night.
A search and rescue operation was mounted for the man at 10.13pm but it was called off one hour later, said Sandakan police chief ACP Rowell Marong. He said the operation involving policemen and fire-fighters resumed this morning.
Tang Weng Liang in his 30s was believed to have gone into the jungle at about 7pm after his overture was rejected, Rowell told reporters at the Sandakan police’s monthly assembly here yesterday. He said the operation was mounted after Tang’s family lodged a police report Wednesday night. — Bernama
