LOCAL artistes are hard pressed to promote their existing albums and selling them for returns. One such artist that perseveres in this bid is Esther Apllunius.

Her latest album is ‘Two in One’ which was completed recently. The songs that will be entertaining her fans are created by Shahril and Ijan Adlizan with lyrics written by Mimie and Ijan Adlizan. These are the third compilation of songs in Esther’s third studio album.

According to the director of Music Video Walter Misir, Esther completed recording the song and video clip with Borneorama Production (BRP ) and Lakut Production.

“The video clip was taken at the Hotel Novotel Kota Kinabalu 1Borneo, and it took us a day. It was a sponsorship,” he says.

Walter, who is a keen writer, had previously directed the video clip for the first song titled ‘ Sipi Sipi’  which according to him was inspired by blondes and brunettes of Hollywood fame.

Stars of Hollywood and blondes are synonymous with the world of glamour and tragedy, he says .

“I believe this is a good idea for a video clip rather than the stereotype of the Sabahan Music Video Sabahan.”

Perhaps, the most interesting fact of the video is the make-up as Walter shares Esther is styled by world renowned make-up artist of Roshar of the United States.

According to him, Roshar was recently voted by fashion magazines and social media as the top 30 chart Instagram makeup artist.

“Roshar who comes from New York and has worked in Los Angeles was assisted by Jani Junaidi a local make-up artist in Esther’s cosmetic works,” he said.

He stresses that the video clip and the song ‘Sipi Sipi ‘ have sparked tremendous interest among her fans and topped the charts of radio and TV stations in the state.

“Therefore, I hope to repeat the same success with our latest productions, ” he shares, adding that fans can request for the songs from radio stations or through the social networking site YouTube through the subscription of Walter Misir’s account .

Meanwhile,  Borneo Events Production spokesperson Peter Dicky Lee says Sabah Talent Programme which started this year is in the midst of touring the state to carry out the competition.

According to him, the competition is to discover new and various talents including dances, personal skills, singing, magic shows and other stunts and abilities by individuals.

“We have so far covered Kota Kinabalu, Keningau and Kudat. I must say that I am amazed to witness the tremendous talent as yet discovered among the people there,” he says.

According to him, one such talent who caught his attention was a person who de-husked a coconut with his teeth.

“I was stunned when he shares that his next performance would be to open a durian with his teeth. That would be truly amazing. There are also tremendous talents in dances here, where one can say they are gravity-defying skills and at times so fine-tuned as it could be dangerous,” he says.

Peter shares that they will tour Tawau and Lahad Datu to carry out such competitions and  later in Labuan.

“The round to the grand final will be at Palm Square, Centre Point, where 15 finalists will be picked for the grand final,” he says.

He says this will be a hit with the crowd as it will showcase the tremendous talents among the people in Sabah
