Cops continue hunt for suspects in kk shooting incidents

KOTA KINABALU: Police have intensified their hunt for the suspects responsible for a spate of shootings here and Penampang late Friday night.

Kota Kinabalu police chief ACP Jauteh Dikun said so far, no arrests had been made and police were still gathering evidence to assist investigations.

“I also confirm that a total of 46 premises were shot at, no other owners have come forward to complain that their premises were affected.

He urged members of the public with any information on the shootings to contact the police without delay.

They can do so by calling Jauteh himself at 019-8039520 or Kota Kinabalu CID Chief DSP Nor Azizulkifli Mansor (019-8103350) or the Karamunsing police headquarters (088-221191).

According to police, the shootings which lasted an hour from 11.45pm (on Friday) were carried out by a group of six youths said to be up to mischief.

The youths who had moved around in three cars had fired ball-bearings at the premises using air rifles.

Losses due to damage to glass panels at the premises attacked was estimated to be around RM76,000. — Bernama
