PENAMPANG: The three-month extension for the Royal Commission of Inquiry on the presence of illegal immigrants in Sabah will enable it to do an even more thorough job on its findings.
“The Commission is analyzing the findings and this will take time. We will have to wait for the progress,” United Pasokmomogun KadazanDusun Murut Organization (UPKO) President Tan Sri Bernard Dompok said.
Dompok, who was met at his Christmas Day open house in Putaton here yesterday, said this when asked for his comment on the new three months extension granted to the Royal Commission of Inquiry from Dec 22 2013 to March 21 2014.
According to him, he considered the extension a norm and was of the opinion that it is better to extend the time frame and do a good job.
“We have gone this far so let us be patient. The Commission will present their findings to the Cabinet,” he said.
Asked if the Cabinet would be presenting the findings to Parliament, Dompok said that it was up to the Government to decide what is necessary.
When asked if he agreed that the findings be made public, Dompok replied, “Yes the Government should make the findings open”.
