KOTA KINABALU: A motorcyclist was killed when his machine hit a car at the Dambai roundabout, Tuaran Road here on Monday.
The victim, identified only as Yus, in his 30s, died at the scene in the 5.20pm incident.
It is learnt that the victim was heading to Tebobon from Inanam when he lost control of the motorcycle and hit the right side of the Lexus car that was coming out of a junction.
The victim was thrown a couple of meters from the point of impact, while the 28-year-old woman who was driving the car suffered minor injuries.
City police chief ACP Jauteh Dikun, who confirmed the incident, said the victim’s body had been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem.
He urged eyewitnesses to come forward to assist police in their investigation under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
