BEAUFORT: The Sabah government will continue to support efforts to organise cultural programmes as they bring many benefits to the people.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the programmes not only help preserve traditions and cultural values of the ethnic groups but also impact the the community’s economy.
“The cultural programmes also help to strengthen ties between the ethnic groups,” he said when opening the Bagandang Beaufort Festival 2013, here yesterday.
Malaysians, particularly those in Sabah, could celebrate the cultures in the spirit of brotherhood although they comprise many ethnic groups and religious beliefs.
Musa said the atmosphere of goodwill and harmony will continue to be nurtured as it is one of the uniqueness of Sabah, in line with the 1Malaysia concept promoted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. — Bernama
