2,000 Civil Defence members for flood relief operations

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Civil Defence Department (JPAM) is all set for relief operations in view of the unpredictable weather and frequent occurrence of heavy rains recently.

Sabah JPAM deputy director Mohd Rosman Abdullah has mobilized 2,000 members to be on guard at six high-risk flood areas in the state, including Kota Kinabalu, Beaufort, Kota Marudu, Sandakan, Lahad Datu and Tawau.

Mohd Rosman said JPAM was fully prepared in terms of manpower and logistics aspects.

He added that JPAM had also prepared sufficient medical supplies to cater for emergencies.

Flood victims can call JPAM for assistance in Kota Kinabalu 088-232433, Beaufort 087-221952, Kota Marudu 088-661665, Sandakan 089-672586 and Tawau 089-749046.
