TAWAU: A 30-year-old estate worker was stabbed to death by about 10 to 15 men beside the road of Kretam Holding Berhad, Silimpopon Estate, Kalabakan last Friday night.
Jodi Seo, a passport holder, was stabbed five times on the chest, left flank, stomach, left arm and back side of his body.
District police chief ACP Awang Besar Dullah said the victim and his friend, Deni Bee, were on their way home to a kongsi after receiving their salary.
They were riding a motorcycle when the group of men stopped and assaulted them around 7pm. Jodi was beaten and stabbed to death at the scene while his friend sustained light head injury after being pelted with stones.
Awang said police were looking for Sultan Bin Miri, 23, Jafry Bin Lile, 30, and Deni Bee, 39, for investigation into the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
Meanwhile, the police, Immigration Department and National Registration Department jointly carried out Ops Bersepadu and Ops Lejang at Kampung Vietnam, Tanjung Batu and the township here on Saturday morning.
Awang, who led the operation from 4am to 8.30am, said 90 persons comprising of 44 males and 16 females were brought to the police station for not having personal document. They also would be investigated by the Immigration Department.
Apart from seizing a stolen motorcycle, the team also issued 16 summonses and detained a man who was tested positive for drug abuse.
They also inspected 33 motorcycles, 36 cars and eight buses.
