KOTA KINABALU: The son of former Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Kadoh Agundong was killed in an accident at the Lido traffic lights early today.
Fernandez Kadoh, 33, succumbed to serious head injuries at the scene of the accident, District Police Chief ACP M Chandra said.
Chandra disclosed that Fernandez, who is employed as a chef at a hotel here, was riding his motorcycle from Penampang when he was rear ended by a four wheel drive vehicle at about 4am.
As a result of the impact, Fernandez was thrown off the motorcycle and landed about 12 metres away.
“He was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital,” Chandra said and urged eyewitnesses to the accident to contact the Investigating Officer Insp. Norkumala Osman at 013-8834239 or the nearest police station to assist with the investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
“I would like to remind road users to always exercise care when on the road and not to be in a haste to get somewhere. They must also always adhere to the speed limit and keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of them at all times,” he said.
